What is Pregnancy Hydrotherm Massage?
The Hydrotherm Massage is a wonderfully luxurious massage, lying on two bags of warm water, not too warm. When receiving a pregnancy massage the temperature is limited to 30 degrees. Warm enough to relax and to calm both mother and baby without being too hot for either.
It is suggested pregnant women do not sleep on their back after 20 weeks, this is because it is possible that the weight of your uterus can compress a major blood vessel, called the vena cava. This can disrupt blood flow to your baby and could leave you nauseated, dizzy, and short of breath. As a result, we lift the head of the massage table during these months to ensure you are able to lie on your back and still use the Hydrotherm massage during pregnancy. You are therefore raised up and the pressure is taken off the vena cava and the back is supported by the warm pads.
